Carbon Oak

With respect to the real human craftsmanship, for all our furniture we only use highest quality, long seasoned, solid wood. Traditional carpentry has always amazed us, with its naturalness and great respect to material and its limits. Solid wood is demanding, needs specific conditions, may have some imperfections, but gives a vast satisfaction of possessing something solid, natural, true and real.

However, please keep in mind that solid wood may sometimes be sensitive to alterations in temperature and humidity, so to avoid cracks, fissures or fractures try to keep the storage conditions stable and on average level. Oak wood is exceedingly strong, heavy and durable. Because of its visible wavy grain, it has a distinctive look. We use White Oak timber, which natural color ranges from light brown, pale yellow to pale gray. Structure shows swirling, waterlike pattern and a tiger-stripe grain with yellow rays and flecks. Due to the woods great strength and hardness, it has been used for manufacturing best quality, most expensive pieces of furniture for centuries.

Carbon oak – natural, solid European Oak, seasoned, treated with special brushes to remove the softer grains and leave the upper surface with a textured, porous, rugged finish. The grains show through and can be felt with your hand easily, giving a vast feeling of touching something old, pristine and noble. Blackened and waxed to imitate a type of a very old oak wood – pitch black, hard wood that was submerged for centuries and then excavated from moody, shallow waters. Deep black color and rough, textured surface makes this finish bold and sophisticated.
